Biotech Mobile

Is your school within a 90-minute radius of Virginia Tech? Biotech in a Box is excited to pilot a new outreach initiative, Biotech Mobile! 

Our team will visit your high school to collaborate with you and guide students through a DNA gel electrophoresis experiment using the DNA Biotechnology Kit.

We’ll arrive with all necessary materials, including equipment, prepared agarose gels, buffer, sample aliquots, workstation supplies, and lab sheets — everything your students need to carry out a hands-on DNA investigation.

With Biotech Mobile, you can focus on teaching while we handle the experimental setup and cleanup.

For grades 6-8, we offer the DNA Demo kit along with optional hands-on activities such as pipetting practice and DNA isolation from strawberries.
