Synopsis:

Dr. Angela Scarpa's general interest is in child and adolescent mental health. Currently, her work is focused on children, adolescents, and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), with emphases on emotional and social development, biological and socializing influences, evidence-based practices, and access to care.

Description:

Dr. Scarpa's lab, the Psychosocial Adjustment, NeuroDevelopment, and Autism (PANDA) Lab, focuses on factors related to socioemotional development in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their family wellbeing. The lab has ongoing projects evaluating the efficacy interventions for children with ASD, including social skills treatment for preschoolers, mindfulness-enhanced PRT, parent-child stress and coping, diagnostic assessment, and impact of parent education.
