Synopsis:

Dr. Evans-Hoeker studies reproductive health, the impact of excess pre-conception weight and excess gestational weight gain, and methods of optimizing weight.

Description:

There are many reproductive health factors that are affected by excess pre-conception weight including: infertility, response to fertility treatments, chance of miscarriage, pregnancy complications, delivery complications and postpartum complications. Aside from these, the fetus is also at risk of birth defects, preterm delivery, postnatal complications and potentially even long term health consequences such as obesity and diabetes. As a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Evans-Hoeker aims to optimize pre-conception weight in the community by identifying effective methods of educating the community, patients, and providers, as well as identifying effective methods of weight loss in the reproductive aged female population.
