Synopsis:

The overall goal of the Craige Lab research program is to elucidate the mechanisms by which diet and exercise influence vascular health and the prevention of cardio-metabolic disease.

Description:

While exercise is known to be important for the prevention of cardiometabolic diseases, many patient populations who could benefit from exercise are unable to exercise due to age or disease. The Craige lab group has recently identified a critical role for reactive oxygen species (ROS) signaling in the adaptive responses to exercise, unveiling new mechanisms of exercise adaptation that may serve as potential targets for cardio-metabolic disease.
