Increased access to scientific research results (i.e. scholarly publications, digital data sets); education (i.e. curriculum and training products, number of students graduated); and extension (i.e. outreach materials, number of stakeholders’ reached) data from NIFA-funded projects is critical to achieving NIFA’s vision to catalyze transformative discoveries, education, and engagement to address agricultural challenges.

Therefore, an appropriate data management plan (DMP) should be a core component of the research, education, and extension planning for applications submitted to NIFA.
