Comparing Instruments

The Facility offers a free, self-paced online FIJI/ImageJ for Beginners course on Canvas.

In addition to an introduction to FIJI and basic commands, learners will also:

  • Make basic measurements
  • Use segmentation to make measurements
  • Perform background subtraction and other image math
  • Visualize 3D images
  • Perform basic 3D measurements

Outside of the core modules, specific PlugIn modules also offered include:

  • Trainable segmentation and subsequent measurements with Trainable Weka Segmentation and Labkit
  • Tracking over time with Trackmate
  • An introduction to ImageJ Macro creation for batch processing and analysis
  • Colocalization tools (pixel- and object-based) with Coloc2 and JaCoP
